First of all, let me apologise for the title. It was supposed to be a (very loose) reference to a film that is 11 years old now, so there’s a good chance that nobody got it. I got 99 problems, and outdated references is definitely one of them. Anyway, onto the blog, and a completely fabricated quote from Kim Kardashian.
I know we’ve not even eaten our Easter eggs yet. I haven’t even bought any Easter eggs yet! I did have a Cadburys Cream Egg the other day, but thats beside the point. Anyway, despite being the wrong side of Easter, believe it or not, the summer is fast approaching. The mornings are becoming lighter, the temperatures are rising!
We are a pretty eclectic bunch here at SPC Yearbooks. We have a vast range of interests, and hobbies. In fact, it would be pretty accurate to say that we have a mere two things in common.
On the 27th November we visited Heartwood Forest on one of The Woodland Trust’s tree planting days. Wellies and winter clothes at the ready we met up with some staff and students from Berkhamsted Prep School, Ralph Sadleir School, and Saint Mark’s West Essex Catholic School, and were ready to get started.
So, you’ve been working hard on your Yearbook, and you’re pretty sure that you and the yearbook committee have created the perfect memento to remember those awesome school years by.
You may or may not be aware, that today November 7th, is National Hug a Bear Day. We are aware that it isn’t a very widely celebrated holiday, but at SPC Yearbooks it is one we take very seriously indeed.
We believe that Teddy Bears are a very important aspect of everyday life, I mean, really… where would we be without them? They are a constant provider of comfort, and love, and who among us can honestly say that cuddling a cute stuffed bear, feeling the faux fur against their skin, doesn’t make them feel all warm, and happy inside?
And that is what hug a bear day is all about, celebrating the wonderful sensation of comfort and happiness that is brought about by hugging our favourite teddy bears. And so, to celebrate this oh so important day, we have decided to share with you the totally real* yearbook entries of some of the celebrity bears we, at SPC Yearbooks, would most like to hug on National Hug a Bear Day.
* Actually very fake.
Lots-o’Huggin’ Bear rose to fame when he starred in Pixar’s 2010 blockbuster ‘Toy Story 3’. Whilst Lots-o’ was portrayed as being a bit of a rapscallion in the movie, at SPC Yearbooks, we believe that: ‘Even the naughtiest teddy bears deserve a hug on National Hug a Bear Day’ in fact we believe in that matra so much, its our company motto! And if it isn’t it definitely should be.
Name: Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear
School: Sunnyside Daycare
Best Memory: All the wonderful hugs i was able to give everyone I met!
Personal Message: Well, hasn’t time just flown by! I can remember my first day here as if it was only yesterday! We have had such an amazing time at this daycare, so thank you all for all the lovely memories, i will remember you all fondly. I can wait to spend my life making Daisy as happy as I can, I was gifted to her for Christmas, and I just know she’ll never get bored of me and desert me!
Voted Most Likely to: Struggle to cope with rejection and become a totalitarian dictator making the lives of fellow toys unbearable.
When The Muppets returned to the silver screen in 2011, it was pretty clear for all to see that Fozzie Bear stole the show! We don’t think there is another celebrity teddy bear more deserving of a hug than Fozzie Bear, years of putting up with Statler and Waldorf’s mean heckles, we just know he’d appreciate a nice reassuring cuddle, to let him know that we appreciate every stand-up routine and punch line he ever delivered.
Name: Fozzie Bear
School: Muppet’s School of Comedy
Best Memory: When I made a joke about Miss Piggy’s hair in Gym class, and everyone laughed for days. Well, I laughed for days any way, wocka wocka wocka!
Personal Message: Okay, so a guy asks me ‘Did you take a bath today?’ and I said Why is there one missing? Haha! Hey guys, I can’t think of anything I’d really like to thank you for, you should be thanking me really? For all the hilarious jokes I have told!
Voted Most Likely to: Completely fail in his attempted career as a comedian, due to a complete lack of sense of humour.
Now, we are not sure that this is what the creator of National Hug a Bear Day had in mind, but we still think that Mr Grylls would be quite the outstanding hugger! Of course, he would have to shower first, and make sure he’s not wearing the clothes he just spent four nights in the wilderness wearing. But still, look at those arms!
Name: Bear Grylls
School: Eaton House, Ludgrove School
Best Memory: Catching and eating my own lunch because the school canteen is rubbish
Personal Message: None of you could survive in the wild. None of you. I hope to one day fulfill my dream of spending a night sleeping inside a deer carcass.
Voted Most Likely to: Get a 9-5 job and spend most of his days in a nice warm office.
So, dont forget to hug a bear today! But maybe not Bear Grylls, he might not appreciate it.
If you disagree with us about any of these bears, or think we have missed anyone out, please feel free to let us know! Or if you want to request a free yearbook sample pack, so you can get started on your very own yearbook.
Congratulations Nancy for winning this year’s Great British Bake Off! But at SPC Yearbooks we have a recipe that a baker with any experience level can complete. So even if you don’t have Normans ‘consistency’, Diana’s (alleged) willingness to sabotage, or Chetna’s amazing control of flavours, our recipe and step-by step method will still ensure you can bake up a yearbook that will tickle even Mary Berry’s fancy!
