Reusing an Existing Yearbook DesignIf your school has produced a yearbook in the past with SPC Yearbooks and you liked the look of the design, you can use these again for your new project – just speak to one of our Yearbook Account Managers by calling 01480 410435 or email yb@spc-yearbooks.co.uk.

If your school previously used our Complete Design or Pre-designed Template service to produce a yearbook then that design was unique to your school. If you wish to reuse the design, we may be able to give you a discount if it saves design hours for us.

Reusing an Existing Yearbook Design – Yearbook Creator
If your school produced a yearbook using the SPC Yearbook Creator software and you would like to use the design again but on a different computer, please follow the
instructions below. You will need access to the computer used to create the previous version.

  • Open the “SPC Page Creator Projects” folder on the computer holding last year’s project. On a PC, this can be found in “My Documents”, and on a Mac in “Users > Documents”.
  • The folder contains many files. The one you need is the PRJ file and should bear a name resembling the project name. Copy this file (e.g. to a pen drive or network) in order to move it to the new computer.
  • Ensure that the Yearbook Creator Software is installed on the computer you intend to use for the new project. 
  • Insert the PRJ File into the “SPC Yearbook Creator Projects” folder on the new computer. Once this has been done you will have the previous yearbook project ready to edit. Its now just a matter of you removing what you don’t want in the project and adding what you do.

Win £250 off your yearbooks with SPC Yearbooks

With just 4 weeks of term time left in 2011 and the festive season just round the corner, here at SPC Yearbooks we thought we’d get into the spirit of it all and offer our customers the chance of winning £250 off their yearbooks!

All you need to do is to return your completed yearbook order form by 23rd December 2011 and you’ll automatically be entered into the festive prize draw. As always, there is no deposit required and you can change your yearbook page counts and quantities right up until the point we go to print. There are five different yearbook services to choose from and the lucky winner will be announced in the New Year and will have £250 deducted from their final invoice.

Prize Draw Rules
1. Entry to the competitions is restricted to one entry per yearbook edition ordered.
2. We will submit an entry to all qualifying schools that submit their yearbook order form by the competition closing date.
3. Competitions are open to any group placing an order for 30 yearbooks or more.
4. Prize can only be used in part payment for the yearbook edition stated on the order form.
5. Winners will be chosen at random from all valid entries.
6. Winners will be contacted via email or phone.
7. The Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
8. The competition will run from 01/11/2011 until 23/12/2011.
9. SPC Yearbooks is compliant with the data protection act. Our policy is such that we will not pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent.

Great ways to get your yearbooks for less!

Yearbook cost saving discounts and funding ideasIn this day of vouchers and group buying, most people are on the lookout for offers and discounts. Rather than keep quiet about our yearbook offers, we at SPC Yearbooks want to share with you all the ways we can help make your money go further.

  • Order before Christmas! This will entitle you to a 10% early bird discount. If you ordered yearbooks with SPC Yearbooks last year, you can also get 300 free prom tickets too!   • Looking at leavers’ hoodies? If you are ordering yearbooks through SPC Yearbooks for 2012 you qualify for 20% off the price of your hoodies. We offer 3 hoodie styles in 50 different colours – Click here for more info
  • Ask the head of Year 11 or Year 13 if their year group is planning to order yearbooks too – if they decide to come on board with SPC Yearbooks as well, both of you will benefit from an extra 5% off your entire yearbook order and both year groups can work completely independently, even using different design services! (min 50 yearbooks per edition.)
  • Market widely and sell hard! If you want to bring the unit cost of your yearbooks right down, a good way of doing this is to encourage more people to order. As with everything in manufacturing, the more you order the cheaper it becomes as set up costs become more diluted. To reflect this, ordering 75-99 yearbooks = 5% discount, 100 -149 = 10% discount, 150 -199 = 15% discount and 200+ yearbooks = 20% discount. Email or call us on 01480 410435 for more info
  • Ask your school if they could look to order planners from The School Planner Company (SPC Yearbooks’ sister company). If they decide to order for 2012-13, you will save yourselves £1 on each yearbook for 2012! (Minimum 300 planners and 50 yearbooks – max £300). Click here for more info on planners.
  • Softback is the cheaper option but by no means a compromise. If you’re budget conscious or finding that people are willing to spend less on a yearbook than you may have originally thought, switching your binding choice from hardback cloth or full colour hardback/faux leather hardback will knock £4 or £6 off each yearbook respectively. Click here to find out which binding style would best suit your requirements.

SPC Yearbooks are new suppliers of AWD leavers hoodiesThis article has been written to give you a quick overview of what’s new for 2012 in our leavers’ hoodie service.  SPC are excited to be new suppliers of All We Do Is (AWDis) hoodies – the ethical hoodie brand that has exploded into the market in the last three and a half years and has since become the most dominant and best-selling brand in Europe.

Finding their colour range to be extensive and their variety of hoodie types equally appealing, SPC now offer the traditional ‘college’ hoodie, the ‘varsity’ two tone hoodie and the ‘street’ hoodie with thumb holes and MP3 player loops in numerous different colours. We’ve even introduced more contemporary looking back print design options for those who want to break away from the classic and ever popular American baseball and college style prints.

As always you can have a mixture of colours and sizes in any one order. The material mix of our hoodies is 80% cotton for softness and durability and 20% polyester for optimal shape and colour retention. Embroidery on all your school hoodies regardless of quantity is just £60 and personalisation on the back of hoodies is just £2 extra per hoodie – great value for money – particularly with the 20% discount that will apply if you order yearbooks with us too!
